Best adhesive for a pumpkin craft?

I'm going to do a craft at school where the kids decorate a pumpkin. They can't carve because of knives in school so I'm going to cut out nose and mouth and ears and googly eyes, etc from paperboard and they can decorate them a la Mr Potato Head. Thing is, I don't know which adhesive or glue would be best. It has to be durable and fast drying but it also has to stick securely to a pumpkin. Will Glue Dots work? Regular glue sticks? what else??
