Is there any particular reason why God needs our servitude?

Does perfection require or have a pive desire to need the devotion of imperfection? Since God is perfect, omnipotent, eternal, capable of creating universes well beyond our contemplation, why does (he or she) desire our servitude? Is it for pleasure, irony, etc.? And if the reason is really beyond our understanding, is it fair to to ask us to try and understand it when we could only get it wrong with our imperfect minds and have nothing to go on in terms of evidence but stories?
