What do you believe about the 2012-2015 possibility of a pole shift or a mive impact with an asteroid?

The human race has been on this planet for only a tiny fraction of time in the history of the world. Only a handful of history changing events have occurred in the 4 billion years the Earth has been here. For us to anticipate or predict a major world changing catastrophe would occur in our lifetimes is beyond improbable. It would be like winning a lottery where you have to match a billion numbers. The only thing that might happen would be the human race wiping itself out via nukes, disease or famine. We aren't going to wake up tomorrow to find the world is getting rid of us with natural disasters. Nothing happens fast, eventually the human race will go extinct, but none of us will ever see it.
