Yes, using a bowl will affect cooking times. To make shapes like that, generally cakes are made in layers, filling between layers, and then sculpted to shape, then iced or fondant is used. I wouldn't recommend using bowls. OR, just shell out the money and get the mold you already know exists. If it's important, it will be worth it. Trying to figure out cooking times, type of bowl (would have to be oven proof), etc. would be almost impossible. FYI: No all Pyrex products are oven proof. You'd have to be sure... it should be on the bottom... even of clear gl. If it isn't there, it's not made for use in the oven.

Best adhesive for a pumpkin craft?

I'm going to do a craft at school where the kids decorate a pumpkin. They can't carve because of knives in school so I'm going to cut out nose and mouth and ears and googly eyes, etc from paperboard and they can decorate them a la Mr Potato Head. I may have a hand fracture. How do I tell? Is treatment necessary?

I hit my hand pretty hard yesterday and am feeling extreme sensitivity from the site that received the brunt of it all. It is along the outside of my left hand, along the side right above the wrist and the bottom most knuckle of my pinky finger. There is some bruising, but it is minimal and mostly beneath the surface. I have fairly good mobility, but the specific spots are very sensitive to certain movements and extremely pained when poked or prodded. There is also some sensitivity around lifting heavy objects or opening heavy doors, anything that applies any pressure to those points. Sometimes the pain will subtly shoot up my forearm. Is it possible that I have a hairline fracture or more likely that I simply have very deep bruising? Should I worry about treatment or x-rays? Or will it heal relatively well on its own without any help. Thanks!

How to keep the dogs and the cats from eating each others food?

I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. The cats food is in the pantry on the bottom shelf they have to jump up to get it. The Lab can get to it sometimes and my 4 mth Pug can jump up there too. I don't want the Pug or the Lab eating cat food. The Pugs food is in a lower cabinet so the Lab doesn't eat his food but the cats eat it and usually the Lab manages to squeeze enough of himself in to eat the Pugs food too! No one eats the Labs food because he wolfs it down when it is given to him. How can I create individual eating enviroments for the cats, the Pug, and the Lab without everyone eating everyone elses food? AND without me having to stand guard.

My heel broken? Doctor too far away?!?

I am going to the doctor tomorrow but this is my story. I was skiing inside or the terrain park and I went of a jump. The problem was that I didn't make the gap and I slammed my heel on the gap. I fell from like 5-10 ft. My foot was in a lot of pain and afterwards I took off my sock and my heel was swollen badly on the inside of my foot. I couldn't pinpoint the pain at the time without standing up or walking. I though it was jest bruised but it's 4 days later and my heel hurts and aches more than ever even when I jut sit down. It is really hard to walk on very painful and icedoeant seem to do anything. Is my heel fractured? It's still swollen and really painful I've been taking lots of mess like advil and tylonel. What do you think?

personally i prefer canon, have had really good luck with the slr cameras, both the AE and EOS, haven't had much experience with digital but i know they go by the mega pixels and the casio has a higher one, but there isn't that much of a difference, the cannon would probably be better made, depends on what you want it for, personally if i was going to go digital with a low end i would get a canon EOS rebel digital, but if you want a pocket look at the features, how they feel and how easy the controls are, do they take sd cards or hows the memory set up, look at the screen on the back and how easy they are to preview pics (i have looked at them just haven't used one), it all comes down to personal preference, good luck

Need Help With SCREAMING Baby. ?

Wow. I'm sorry to say it but I think you have tried everything. I always feel so guilty letting mine "scream it out" but maybe it is the only way. Crying won't hurt a kid but it can nearly kill a parent/caregiver. I would just lay him down and check on him frequently. Make sure everything is fine, clean diaper, not hungry, nothing poking him (like in his bed or clothes.) Realistically you can not hold him for 2 hours while caring for 2 other children. I would say however it sounds like you are doing a great job and not really the problem. You have to talk to the parents and encourage them to deal with the problem. Tell them how difficult it is to deal with the other 2 children when you have to hold an infant all day long. They need to commit to getting him out of their bed and into his own. Nine months is old enough. He is probably a little chunk to hold for that long too huh? I really feel for you. I would recommend you take or rather his parents take him to his pediatrician...maybe (I doubt it, sounds like he's just spoiled) there is a reason why he doesn't want to lay down like stomach problems or something. It never hurts to check and see. In the end just be strong and if the parent's don't mind let him cry a little and see if he won't come around. Good LUCK.

I think I need to have a hysterectomy with both ovaries out this spring. The gynecologist said she would not leave an ovary because they are both cystic. I have severe pelvic pain and fibroids. Im worried about having my ovaries removed and the hormonal changes which I am sure will occur. I am 45 yrs old. I am not menopausal yet and still have regular periods. I am still ually active, but worry this will take out my drive and leave me uninterested in ever having again. How did you feel after your hysterectomy and would you do it again?

I know you all may think I am insane. My boyfriend is really over protective of me and we are in a long distance relationship. Are there key symptoms that help differentiate them? I've heard that heartburns/chest pains have similar symptoms to a mild heart attack, but before going on to ume anything, is there a way to tell the difference between them? In other words, how do you know if you're having muscular aches or indigestion problems or acid reflux to something more serious like heart problems showing its early stages and coming in the form of a mild heart attack? I'am 21 years old and a group of my friends and I went to the beach for a day of relaxation. While a group of 4 of us were in the lake swimming, two 13 year old girls were about 10 ft away. These two girls were constantly throwing with all their force medium to large rocks AT us. They tried to claim that they were skipping rocks with "bad aim", and after we asked them numerous times to stop...they started to throw more, larger rocks. We decided among the group that it would only be fair to do the same, but some nearby middle aged people warned us not to, bc if police were involved, automatically myself and my friends would get in trouble due to the fact that these girls were not 18. Eventually we all swam out so far that the two girls couldnt touch the bottom and they gave up. However my friends and i were wondering if one of us would have maybe snatched them up or something if that WOULD be considered self defense, or ualt on a minor. Some of the rocks they were throwing DID hit some of us, one even hit my boyfriend in the back of the head and scd him. We know that we could have called the cops, but in the town we live in we would have been waiting for over an hour for them to get to the scene, and by then.... the girls probably would have ran off somewhere.

Baby or Me, Gull Bladder Surgery?

I was diagnosed with gall bladder disease at 8 weeks pregnant. I had gallstones, inflammation, and a mive infection. I've been on the restricted diet since then. I've still had about 6 attacks since then but I wanted my baby and not the surgery. I can't tell you what to do and I can't compare our experiences but I'm now 38 weeks so I've been doing the restricted diet for 30 weeks and you would only have to do it for 13. Not to mention the diet helped me limit my pregnancy weight gain to only 16lbs. Don't get me wrong at every single attack I wanted to get my gallbladder out but I looked at it as practice for labor and practiced breathing through the pain and mind over matter relaxation techniques. Long term pill user, sudden acne break out?

Hello! I've been taking Yasmin since Feb 2006. It's been working fine for me except giving me dry skin and low drive. I've always had very clear, good skin but recently I noticed that I got lots of bumps/whiteheads on my cheek. They're not red acne so it's not very noticeable. They just really bother me. I have not changed my diet or skin so I really don't know what's causing those white bumps. My question is: can you break out after being on the pills for about 4 years? Can you have hormone fluctuations while on the pill? Is it worth changing to another brand for these mysterious bumps?

They have a sign in the window saying a diagnostic test costs $39.99. I called for 3 days, asking when the car would be checked out. They finally checked the car out and told me that the problem was the motor. They told me another motor would cost $1,800. Or they said I would have to pay $100.00 for the diagnostic test, which is $60.00 more than the sign says in the window. I never signed anything, and now they say I have to pay storage charges, in addition to the $100.00 for the test. I'm willing to pay the $39.99 price for the test as advertised in the window, so AAA can tow my car to my home. What can I do?

I got one of those and I LOVE it! I am not the type who can just do it in public no hesitation, although I have no issue with those who do. My Jack Russell is four years old and will not stay in our yard or even our house. We rent, so I can't change the fencing options, and an invisible fence doesn't phase her. She breaks or chews through or pulls out of coated chains and teathers or whines, barks, and bellows like crazy. We put a shock collar on her, and that only modifies her behavior for about the first three minutes when she's pouting. Then it's back to the same thing. She escapes our house, and I'm not sure exactly how she does that. I've put up baby gates and have tried confining her to more secure parts of the house. We live near a beach where she runs off to, and people usually pick her up and take her to animal control within the first few minutes of her escape, which costs me over $130 each time. This is expensive and frustrating. We take good care of her, but I don't know how to keep her contained. Any other ideas? And she's a crybaby about everything, which is very frustrating - squirt bottles don't work ... nothing works, but crying is better than running away. (Fortunately she's not been hit by a car.) Hi, took a practice test just to see how I would do. Areas that were high was Word Knowledge, 83%, and Paragraph Comprehension, 93%. Did so-so on Science, 60, and Arithmetic Reasoning, 57. Areas that didn’t go so well was Mathematics Knowledge, 36, which something always struggle with. Other areas that weren’t great just had no idea what was right or wrong was Auto Shop, Mechanical Comprehension, and Electronics. Goal is to become a Navy Corpsman. My cello bow wont tighten enough?

i have a carbon fiber bow and recently had it rehaired. i can tighten and loosen the bow easily, but i cant tighten it enough. it will tighten smoothley but then it will immediatley stop turning and the hair will still be to close the stick. so when i play forte the hair is touching the stick. also when i play, the stick wobbles and makes it harder to keep steady. are these problems related to each other?

I am having trouble getting ?

I encode them with the right software and all seems fine until I burn them onto a disk. When I try to playback in my DVD player, its often distorted and makes a scratch-like noise which is unwatchable. This doesnt happen on all of them though, example: I put 3 different mpeg's onto one disk, 2 of them work fine but one is distorted like I said. Is there anything I can do to make sure they will burn properly?

I haven't been to a dentist in 10 years (I am 16) NOW WHAT?

I am 16 and I haven't been to a dentist since I was 6! My mom never took me because we don't have insurance. After 5 years of pestering my mom to get us insurance she finally has and I am going to the dentist next week. I have MAJOR calculus build-up on my teeth, ESPECIALLY on my back bottom teeth! It's really bad and ugly to look at. All my teeth are practically yellow. I think I have 3 cavities as well. I also have teeth growing in on the back... do these need to be removed? I have really bad teeth! Will the dentist be able to remove all the calculus on my teeth? Will he also fill in my cavities? And most importantly, will my teeth be WHITE? My teeth have completely ruined my confidence and self-esteem... I don't talk to people because of it and I NEVER smile. My teeth have caused a great deal of depression and anxiety. Not sure what it is. I recommend taking off the pump and filling the kitchen sink with water. Put the end of the pump (the straw thing) in the water and keep pumping until the brown gunk doesn't come out anymore. If it continues I'd return it and try different ones. I don't think the dispensers should do that.

Why would a 21 year old female be fainting like this?

I am a 21 yr old female, weight 175 (lost 30 lbs or so in the last 8 mths) height 5'4". I have been going through "fainting spells". i p out for just a minute or two and then I wake up and I throw my guts up, get some fresh air and a cool rag and i am ok. It happens once every few months. Its hard to explain how I feel before i p out, all I can say is I just feel WEIRD! My ears have been ringing overwhelmingly for about a month now. My pulse rate has been low (consistently) for months, I had a FULL cardiac workup at our local ER and they said everything was fine! When I p out it doesnt have ANYTHING to do with standing, sitting, etc. It has happend sitting AND standing. When I do p out I get short of breath (not hyperventillating just short of breath), I start to feel like im dying... period... i feel like im leaving the world.. then I p out I come to and Im sweating, my husband says my face is as white as snow, my heart rate is low, my ears are ringing, i just want to sleep i dont want to move, i throw up, my husband keeps a cool rag on me and then Im ok. The last time I full on ped out was in October, that night I passed out, came to, and then passed out AGAIN! But the difference that night was I passed out twice (didnt happen before that and hasnt happened again) and I didnt vomit that night. I have checked my blood sugar when I passed out and it was perfect. I dont like feeling like this, when I pass out (or almost pass out) I feel weird for anywhere from a few days to a few weeks after. Has this ever happened to anyone else??

My one year anniversary with my boyfriend was last friday. We went to Miami for 3 days as our little celebration. Truth be told, he only went down there because his best friend lives there. He sends provocative messages to other girls (facebook, texting, other sites) and when I catch him he gets mad at me like it's my fault. But then he tells me he doesn't want to break up. WTF??? I have put my entire life on hold for him. I have alienated myself from friends and family and have no one in my life at all to turn to. I fear beautiful women, so I fear going out in public. My self esteem is non-existant. Yet I worship the ground he walks on. Anything he asks for, he knows I will do my best to do/get for him to the best of my ability (and thensome.) I'm suffering from extreme depression, for months and months now. I spent Cinco De Mayo on a suicide hotline crying to a complete stranger. When he asked what I was doing and I explained, he became angry and we fought for hours into the morning. I am extremely suicidal. He doesn't try to understand that, nor does he care to. Rather, he makes cruel jokes about my mental instabilities, and then says he doesn't want me on meds. I am bi-polar, a severe depressive, diagnosed with BPD (borderline personality disorder.) HE is the one who insane for not wanting me on meds and then bringing out the worst in me. I feel so tired of not being loved back, but I can't get away. (emotionally. He is NOT AT ALL physically abusive.) We have broken up before at the most for 4 days (tops) at a time but are unable to stay away from each other. In that way, he must love me somehow. Our relationship is like a sick and twisted hate obsession. We are total poison for each other. I don't even really care who answers this. I just needed to get it out of my head. Just anywhere but there.
